Food safety and quality are the cornerstones of all Marzetti® products through every step of the process, from design to final packaging.
Marzetti recognizes the importance of providing safe, healthy food to our customers. Our facilities have the traceability systems in place to identify and connect specific raw materials to finished products, which allows for quick action when issues are identified. In addition to our interval systems for traceability, we participate in the Rapid Recall Exchange and the GS1 Foodservice Initiative. The programs enhance our ability to provide information to our customers.
The Foodservice Modernization Act of 2010 (FSMA) aims to ensure that the U.S. food supply is safe by shifting the focus of federal regulators from responding to contamination to preventing it. In full compliance, Marzetti reviews all food safety and quality systems on an annual basis and audits all of our manufacturing locations. Calibrated internal audits ensure consistency and provide in depth analysis of the food safety systems including HACCP, preventative controls, traceability and root cause analysis.
